The
Israeli regime is the very embodiment of the violation of human rights
and conventions on children and women’s rights, an Iranian diplomat
says.
“The Zionist regime is an exhaustive reflection of the violation of human rights and the rights of women and children; and the innocence of [Palestinian] women and children has been proven to the world during the war on Gaza,” Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Expatriates Affairs Hassan Qashqavi said on Sunday.
While Israel has never believed in human rights and international conventions, the Western countries always support Tel Aviv in whatever it does, he added.
Qashqavi also noted that none of the 232 United Nations resolutions, 35 UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) resolutions or five international reports against Israel have ever been implemented.
He further stressed that supporting Palestine is among the core principles of the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy.
The remarks come as Israel has been pounding numerous sites inside the besieged Gaza Strip and killing innocent residents of the impoverished Palestinian enclave since July 8. The air, sea and land strikes have so far killed at least 1,830 Palestinians and injured over 9,300 others.
