Israeli forces detain 21 Palestinians, including 15-year-old, in predawn raids

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 21 Palestinians during pre dawn raids on Wednesday across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
PPS said in a statement that Israeli forces raided the northern West Bank districts of Nablus, Jenin, and Qalqiliya, and detained seven Palestinians, including a father and his two sons.
In the central West Bank, Israeli forces raided the Ramallah district and detained five Palestinians.
PPS reported that in East Jerusalem, Israeli forces detained two brothers from the Issawiya neighborhood, two from the Old City, and one from the Shufat refugee camp.
In the southern West Bank districts of Bethlehem and Hebron, Israeli forces detained four Palestinians. According to PPS, one of the detainees was 15-years-old.
The identities of the detainees remained unknown.
Israeli raids into Palestinian towns and villages are near daily occurrence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
According to UN documentation, between January 16 and 29, Israeli forces carried out 160 search and arrest operations in the West Bank, while 2018 has seen a to a bi weekly average of 176 search and detention raids.
