Celebrations were held at Al-Aqsa today as Israeli occupation forces removed their intrusive ‘security’ measures. Israel had setup metal detectors and advanced surveillance cameras at the doors of Al-Aqsa on 16 July 2017, a move that was rejected by Palestinians who saw this as a change to the status quo at the Islamic holy site and a step towards its Judaisation. After two weeks of protests and sit-ins, Israel reversed its decision and Palestinians returned to Al-Aqsa today.
