The Israeli government’s first-ever investigation into prostitution in the country found that sex workers netted an estimated 1.2 billion shekels (approximately $308 million) in 2014, Israel’s Ha'aretz newspaper reported on Sunday.
Conducted jointly by Israel’s social affairs and public security ministries the study published last week estimated that there were between 11,420 and 12,730 prostitutes in Israel in 2014.
According to the study, at least 1,260 minors were involved in the sex industry, although, the authors admit, they could not precisely conclude how many minors were working as prostitutes…
