Double take: Did Merkel take selfie with Brussels terrorist?

German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrives at a board meeting of her ruling Christian Democratic Union party, CDU, at the party's headquarters in Berlin, Monday, Feb. 15, 2016.

German online platform MMnews revealed the name of the Syrian refugee seen in a selfie with Merkel that recently went viral.

The young man whose resemblance to the Paris bomb-maker and Brussels attacker Najim Laachraoui caused heated debate on social media turned out to have nothing to do with the terrorist attacks in Brussels, the website wrote.
Earlier, social network users vividly discussed the image of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and a young man of Arab appearance. Some of them claimed that the man looked very much like the Brussels suicide bomber Laachraoui.
In fact, the man turned out to be 18-year-old Anas Mondamani, who has been sheltered by a German family and currently lives in Berlin. His identity was revealed by a publisher and author of the website Kerstin Hack, a friend of the family.
Two explosions took place at the international airport of Brussels on Tuesday morning. A third explosion occurred later in the subway station Maelbeek. As a result of the terrorist attacks 31 people were killed and another 340 injured.
