Wogan made an impassioned plea of clemency to the Author and researcher, david Icke
Terry Wogan passed away at the age of 77 today, he was probably best known for the Wogan show and noted in the Conspiracy arena for the his famous David Icke interview which in turn transformed Icke in to a House Hold name, but for all the wrong reasons.

According to the Daily Squib, Wogan made an impassioned plea of clemency to the Author and researcher, david Icke.  The interview saw Wogan telling Icke, in response to laughter from the audience, that they were laughing at him and not with him.
Wogan allegedly told the BBC news service:

"I ridiculed someone who was in the process of waking up. You see I was asleep myself just as so many others were. Well, I apologise to Mr Icke unreservedly for being a snivelling arse that night on the Wogan show. David Icke was correct on Jimmy Savile and all the others, especially those in the halls of power,"

David Icke returned to The Terry Wogan show in 2006, this time the audience did not laugh at Icke, instead they listened to him without much interruption from Wogan himself.
Icke also reflected on his experience following his apperance on the first Wogan show back in 1991.
"I couldn't walk down any street in Britain without being laughed at by most of the people. Going into a pub there was uproar. A comedian only had to say my name to get a laugh. What that does is it reveals to you the level of maturity that passes for adulthood in this country."

It seemed Icke did have the last laugh at the end of 2006 Wogan show, he said in response to Wogan's stating 'America was a free and open society' he said "That you think America is an open society? That's ludicrous Terry, I've never heard anything so stupid in all my life." At this point, Icke received a huge applaud from the audience, a huge contrast to his prior apperance in 1991.
