ed note–remember, as we are told on a daily basis, the roots of the conflict in the Middle East are the result of ‘religious extremism’, the only caveat being that it is not those adhering to the ‘extremism’ of Islam or Christianity, but rather the grand-daddy of all religious fundamentalism, Judaism.
Judaism is the original expression of religious terrorism/extremism. It introduced the idea of ‘conversion by the sword’ and of killing off ‘infidels’. ‘Jihad’–as it is inaccurately portrayed today, was not an Islamic invention, but a judaic one, to wit–
“When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are to possess and casts out the many peoples living there, you shall then slaughter them all and utterly destroy them…You shall save nothing alive that breathes…You shall make no agreements with them nor show them any mercy. You shall destroy their altars, break down their images, cut down their groves and burn their graven images with fire. For you are a holy people unto the LORD thy God and He has chosen you to be a special people above all others upon the face of the earth…”

Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly.” (Leviticus 25:44-46)
“Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you…Your gates will always stand open, day and night, so that people may bring you the wealth of their nations, and their kings led in triumphal procession…For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish; it will be utterly destroyed.”–Isaiah 60:10-12

Having said this, what must be remembered is that Jews the world over, but especially those living in Israel, view the commandments set forth in Deuteronomy, Leviticus, etc, concerning the slaughter of Gentiles within that territory known as ‘the promised land’ to be nothing short of the literal word of God. Therefore, ANY expression of compassion or outrage over the deliberate murder of Palestinians is considered nothing short of heresy and blasphemy, and hence the response on the part of Israel and her supporters whenever such sentiments receive the light of day, and especially when such originate from centers of powers such as an established government.
Until people begin to grasp this simple fact, that there is no such thing as a ‘good Jew’, and that Judaism–AT ITS CORE AND FROM THE MOMENT OF ITS INCEPTION–is and has been the embodiment of religiously-induced mental illness, the world will continue to march at break-neck speed towards its own destruction, the people of the Middle East being its first victims, and then everyone else, one by one, taking their turn as well.
