Rally goers held up placards with "Jews and Arabs against hatred" and "Jews and Arabs against racism" written on them, as seen on video footage broadcast online.
The crowd was estimated to reach 400 people and growing, said a CNN report on the scene.
One of the witnesses described a "small cluster of right-wing counter-demonstrators" chanting "death to leftists" among other slogans.
The latest reports claim four additional Palestinians were shot dead in east Jerusalem and the West Bank in separate knife attacks on Saturday.
