Scuffles broke out between police and taxi drivers in Paris early Saturday as around 100 taxi drivers met in the city center to prevent Uber cabs from working and to protest the rival company's existence. Official Paris taxi drivers have accused their Uber rivals of operating an illegal taxi service that steals their customers. Official drivers could be seen physically manhandling some of the Uber drivers in an attempt to stop Uber cars from driving around and picking up customers in the area they were rallying in. As of May, Uber taxis were available in in 58 countries and 300 cities worldwide.
