United States in contravention of Nuclear Proliferation Treaty: Russia

‘Russia has accused the United States of violating the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) by deploying tactical weapons in European countries.
On Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov renewed Moscow’s attacks on Washington for the deployment of missiles in several Eastern European countries.
In a Q&A-format interview with journalists, he said the deployment of US weapons close to Russian borders was “a breach” of the treaty.
Kremlin has long been critical of missile deployments by the US and its allies in the Western military alliance of NATO. Russian officials say Washington and its allies are threatening Russia by expanding their missile programs in Eastern Europe.’
