"Huge shipments of synthetic drugs transported from South East Asia are transshipped via several counties, including Ukraine. We banned 288 new drugs last year while Ukraine forbade just 12 types of new drugs over the same period. It means that more than 260 narcotic substances can be transported via Ukraine without any risks. Russia which has a much larger drugs market is lying nearby," Ivanov stressed.
The Anti-Drug Services of Russia and Ukraine have stopped almost all information exchanges on drugs because of political pressure. "Apparently, the political pressure has had its impact. The contacts have been frozen," Ivanov said.
