Press TV has conducted an interview with Mark Glenn, with the Crescent and Cross Solidarity Movement, in Idaho, to discuss the refusal of Israel to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

The following is a rough transcription of the Interview.

Press TV: Once again the issue of Israel’s refusal to join the NPT has been brought to the forum this time by Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, please walk us through those comments.

Glenn: Yes, well, I think it is deliciously ironic to borrow a phrase that we use here in the West. But the fact that Iran’s Foreign Minister Zarif is the one to bring this up given the fact that who are not just years but decades now we have been listening to Israel through her various spokesmen boo-hoo-hooing and all the rest that inaccurately portraying Iran as a terrorist nation that is bent upon nuclear arm again not just for Israel but for the entire world. So the fact is that the foreign minister is the one in New York, discussing the intransigent and belligerent nature of Israel with regards to nuclear weapons. I think as I said it is deliciously ironic, the Israelis are obviously always masters of manipulating the narrative and that creating illusions in order to seduce people into accepting certain notions. In this case, however, Iran is the only rational player in all of this. I think that the United States understands this which is while the United States, and at this point in the interest of saving face is engaged with dialogue with Iran. And at the same time, it has got to have blood boiling over in Tel Aviv.

Press TV: Why won’t this issue be dealt with more firmly at an international capacity, the fact that Israel refuses to join the NPT and ignores calls for inspection of its nuclear facilities, as it is widely believed to be the sole possessor of deadly nuclear warheads in the Middle East?

Glenn: Well, I think that of course we can always fall back on the issue and so when it comes to Israel and the past she always gets on the world’s stage which is her ability to blackmail and bribe people, but I think there is actually much more dire situation at stake here which is, I think the leaders of the world understand that Israel is an extremely irrational player in all of this. And let’s keep in mind that Israel is the only state that has threatened to wipe out the entire world with her nuclear weapons arsenal, if it looks as if her precious experiment in Jewish self-rule in the Middle East is going to fail. This has been documented by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh spoke to Samson Option as well as very statements that have come out of Israel’s political and military class. So, I think, what we have here is not just on a superficial level, it is typical which is typical Zionist strong arming and all the rest ... but rather nuclear blackmail that the leaders of the world understand that they are really dealing with the mad dog in the case of Israel. A country that literally would wipe out the entirety of the human race if she did not get her way.
