Iran: Terrorists in Yemen Organized by Israeli Mossad Agency

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian blasted Israel for sponsoring terrorism in Yemen, and said Mossad plays an important role in gathering and transferring terrorists from around the world to Yemen.

"The (Israeli) Mossad has brought ISIL, Boko Haram and al-Shabab terrorists to Yemen," Amir Abdollahian said on Wednesday.

The Iranian deputy foreign minister underlined that the evidence and intel gathered over the past two months shows that certain spy agencies have transferred the ISIL terrorists from Syria and Iraq as well as some (other) regional countries to South Yemen.

"Boko Haram and al-Shabab terrorists have been taken from Nigeria and Somalia to Yemen," Amir Abdollahian added.

He noted that the Al-Qaeda-linked terrorists never attack Israel's interests around the world due to their cooperation with Mossad, and said, "Even in the recent Gaza war against Gaza, the ISIL refrained from confronting the Zionist regime."

Amir Abdollahian, meantime, pointed to the measures taken by Saudi Arabia to reduce the crude prices and described it a strategic mistake.

He reiterated that Saudi Arabia has been making an instrumental use of terrorism, and described it as "a strategic mistake" by Riyadh.

On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif put forward details of a proposed peace plan according to which Tehran seeks to help end the ongoing conflict gripping Yemen.

During his visit to the Spanish capital, Madrid, Zarif proposed a four-point plan, emphasizing the Yemeni nation’s right to decide its own future free from foreign interference.

The proposal includes hammering out a ceasefire, sending humanitarian assistance to the people affected by violence, launching an intra-Yemeni dialog, and establishing a broad-based government participated by all Yemeni factions, according to Zarif.

The top Iranian diplomat, once again, called on the Al Saud regime to stop its military campaign against Yemen, saying the deadly attacks on the Arabian Peninsula state could never provide “an answer” to the conflict.

“…All operations should end on land and from the air,” Zarif said, adding, “This issue should be resolved by the Yemenis... Iran and Saudi Arabia need to talk but we cannot talk to determine the future of Yemen.”

Earlier today, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in a telephone conversation with his Omani counterpart Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal bin Nasser Al Mawali warned against the repercussions of any ground incursion into Yemen for the world Muslim states.

"Military action against Yemen and destroying the Arab country's infrastructure will inflict losses on all Muslims, and only the Zionist regime and big powers will benefit from such a move," Larijani said during the phone talk.

The Iranian parliament speaker pointed to the regional developments, and said, "The presence of terrorist groups in the region and their warmongering policies will result in a lack of security and stability in the region," he said, and added, "The Muslim countries should hold off the regional crises through constant consultations."

Saudi Arabia started its unauthorized aerial bombardments on Yemen on March 26. The Saudi-led attacks have drawn international criticism after claiming the lives of at least 2,500 people, mostly women and children, and razing thousands of housing units to the ground.

Also, thousands of people have been injured during the attacks as the Saudi offensive enters its 21st consecutive day.

Some western countries, including the US, have backed the Saudi aggression despite international calls for a swift halt to the attacks.
