A Houthi military convoy en route to the city of Aden in southern Yemen has reportedly been attacked by Saudi-led air forces.
Saudi-led
warplanes have attacked a column of Houthi armored vehicles, tanks and
military trucks en route from the Arabian Sea town of Shaqra to the
city of Aden in southern Yemen, sources said.
The information comes as Shi'ite Muslim Houthi rebels opened a new front in a bid to overthrow Yemen's President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi. Earlier, the rebels managed to seize Shaqra ahead of the planned march on Aden.
The attack on the convoy took place in the early hours of Saturday, with a number of vehicles reportedly damaged.
