‘Former White House adviser David Axelrod says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s demagoguery resulted in his victory in Tuesday’s elections.
“Tightness of exits in Israel suggests Bibi’s shameful eleventh hour demagoguery may have swayed enough votes to save him. But at what cost?” Axelrod said in a tweet on Wednesday.
In an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday, Axelrod also criticized Netanyahu for mortgaging the future to win his reelection and blasted his reversal on a two-state solution.
He said Netanyahu ran a “very divisive” operation in his campaign, “abandoning his six-year long commitment to a two-state solution to the Palestinian question.’
