Netanyahu Blames Palestinian President Abbas' Palestinian Authority For Tel Aviv Terror Attack
Prime Minister Netanyahu Blames Tel Aviv Terrorist Attack On Palestinian Authority Incitement
1.21.2015
After a terrorist stabbed nine people on a Tel Aviv bus Wednesday,
Israeli Premier Netanyahu laid the blame squarely at the feet of
President Abbas' Palestinian Authority. He stated, "The terrorist attack
in Tel Aviv is the direct result of the poisonous incitement being
disseminated by the Palestinian Authority against the Jews and their
state. "According to the Jerusalem Post:
The attack began at about 7 a.m., as the bus was reaching the Maariv junction in the center of the city. Eyewitnesses and police said the attacker began stabbing the bus driver repeatedly in the upper body. The bus began swerving in its lane as the driver fought with the attacker. The driver, a veteran with over two decades on the job, even tried to use pepper spray on the man, who began then attacking other passengers, police said.Apparently the prison officers stopped the fleeing terrorist by shooting him in the leg. He is now under arrest in the hospital being questioned.
The swerving bus caught the attention of an Israel Prison Service “Nahshon Unit” team who were driving behind the bus on the way to the Tel Aviv courthouse to pick up detainees. When the bus came to a stop [the driver purposely crashed the bus and opened the door so passengers could escape] and passengers began fleeing, three of the IPS officers began to chase the attacker as he fled east through parking lots and alleyways towards HaMasger Street.
Prime Minister blamed incitement by President Abbas' Palestinian Authority for the attack:
The terrorist attack in Tel Aviv is the direct result of the poisonous incitement being disseminated by the Palestinian Authority against the Jews and their state. This same terrorism is trying to attack us in Paris, Brussels and everywhere.
It is Hamas – Abu Mazen’s [President Abbas] partners in a unity government – that hastened to commend this attack. This is the same Hamas that announced it will sue Israel at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Abu Mazen is responsible for both the incitement and the dangerous move at the ICC in The Hague.
(...)We will continue to take strong action against the terrorism that has been trying to attack us since the founding of the state, and we will see to it that it does not achieve its goal.
