A man dressed in an Afghan army uniform opened fire on NATO troops on Tuesday. A German brigadier general has been seriously injured and an American two-star general was killed in the shootout.
Earlier it was reported that 15 people, including "about a dozen" Americans were wounded in the attack.
"We are in the process of assessing the situation," the ISAF Joint Command said in a statement. "More information will be released as we sort out the facts."
The German brigadier-general is “not in a life-threatening condition,” the German military said as cited by the AP.
