Israeli soldier, 23, captured by Hamas is declared dead after Netanyahu vows to make Gaza militants pay an ‘intolerable price’ for more attacks

‘An Israeli soldier who was thought to have been abducted by Hamas on the Gaza strip was in fact killed in action, the Israeli military confirmed.

A spokesman for the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) said that 23-year-old Hadar Goldin was killed when Hamas soldiers attacked his unit – contrary to previous assertions that he could have been captured by Hamas.

A military panel reached the conclusion that he must have died based on evidence at the scene of the attack, the IDF said. His family has been informed.’Read more
