Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has described the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) as the “rights council for terrorists” over its plan to probe the Israeli regime’s atrocities in Gaza.

Lieberman made the offensive remarks on Wednesday after learning that the UN agency intends to launch an investigation into the Israeli brutal military campaign in the besieged Gaza Strip.

“We will continue to fight terror and continue to fight the hypocrisy and anti-Semitism of bodies such as the UNHRC,” Lieberman claimed.

The UNHRC’s decision to launch the inquiry was made shortly after its chief Navi Pillay said that there is a “strong possibility” that Tel Aviv was violating international law in its military operations against Gaza.
The development comes as the Israeli regime has been fiercely condemned across the globe for its merciless attacks on the civilian population of Gaza, which has so far killed nearly 730 people, including many women and children, and left thousands more injured.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni also accused the UNHRC of “supporting terrorism” and insisted that the Tel Aviv regime will “continue to fight terrorism.”
