Thousands of Egyptians hold anti-government rallies
‘Clashes have broken out in Egypt as tens of thousands of Muslim Brotherhood supporters join rallies to protest against the army-backed government.
Major cities in Egypt became the scene of violent clashes on Friday as people gathered to condemn the judiciary for handing death penalties and lengthy jail sentences to Muslim Brotherhood members.
The demonstrations were held at the request of Egypt’s Anti-Coup Alliance, led by the Muslim Brotherhood, which has called for a weeklong protest starting from Friday under the slogan “Freedom for Egypt”.’ Read more
