Can Be Good or Bad: Scientists now able to create or erase memories at will


‘In a number of disturbing recent studies, scientists have shown the power to create and erase memories “at will.”

Most recently, in a study conducted by researchers from the University of California-San Diego (UCSD) and published online in the journal Nature on June 1, researchers were able to erase specific memories from the brains of rats, then later reinstate them.

“We can form a memory, erase that memory and we can reactivate it, at will,” senior author Roberto Malinow said.’ Read more
