Pastor who said 'Jews are going to hell' and 'Hitler was part of God's plan' leads prayer at Jerusalem Embassy opening in front of Israeli leadership and credits President Trump's determination for bringing them together
'A Southern Baptist preacher who once said Jews were 'going to hell,' called Mormonism 'a cult' and Catholicism 'the genius of Satan,' led the prayer in Jerusalem Monday in honor of the new US embassy.
Robert Jeffress, chosen by the Trump administration to deliver the litany, praised the president for his work in helping unite the United States and Israel.
'Father, as we come to dedicate this embassy, in the city of Jerusalem, the city that you named as the capital of Israel 3,000 years ago, we want to thank you for the tremendous leadership of our great President Donald J. Trump,' the minister said in part.
'I believe I speak for every one of us when we say we thank you every day that you have given us a president who boldly stands on the right side of history - but more importantly - stands on the right side of you, oh God, when it comes to Israel.'
The Dallas-based evangelist noted the 'courageous leadership' of Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was seen sitting in the audience next to White House advisors Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.'
